About Balance Junkie

I decided to write this blog to share what I’ve learned over the years about personal finance, economics, investing, and balance in life.  I am Canadian, and I live in Southern Ontario with my husband and 3 sons.  Early in 2010, I turned 40 years old.  Maybe it was that freight train milestone that prompted me to think about what I’ve learned so far and share my 2 cents with whomever can use the information.

I am not a money-minded person either by nature or education.  My formal educational background is in English Literature, Education, and Psychology.  Like many other financial bloggers out there, I came upon my knowledge of money and markets both accidentally and by necessity.  I hope that what I write helps someone out there to make a change in order to improve his or her personal financial balance sheet and to use that as a stepping stone for achieving a greater balance in other areas of life.

I will, over time, try to cover the full scope of topics under the personal finance umbrella.  You can read a bit more on what the blog is all about in the introductory post.  If you have a specific question that you need help with, please go ahead and send me an email.  I certainly don’t have all the answers, but I’ll do my best to help you find what you need.  If you like what you read here, you can subscribe via RSS feed or email using the icons at the top right corner of each Balance Junkie page.  It’s fast, easy, and free!
