If you’ve been following the story of our recent life changes, you know that we just bought a home about two and a half hours from where we live now in order to take advantage of a new opportunity even though it meant taking out a much larger home loan. Have you ever replaced an item before it really stopped working? Recently, we bought a new washer and dryer. Our old ones were working fine, but they were over 10 years old, and we began to worry about a sudden service interruption. We do a lot more laundry at our house than we used to. Christmas is about home. Even if we’re not in our actual home on Christmas Day, we are likely visiting the home of someone we care about. That can be homey too.

I am an unrepentant homebody and I therefore love that Christmas gives me a chance to wallow in some serious home time. For me, home means safety, security, the smell of delicious food cooking, the sound of children playing, music, and above all, comfort.
